Following a surprising move to overcome the issue of fake currency and black money faced by India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 notes would no longer be legal from midnight of 8th November, 2016.
This sudden step by the government is expected to curb fake currency and black money flow through the economy.
