Game lovers are fascinated with the gaming kit of Alienware, after all, the firm develops a few very alluring gaming peripherals and laptops. However, Alienware’s latest 55-inch gaming monitor is likely its most aspiring creation till now.
The Alienware AW5520QF 55-inch monitor comes with OLED display, 4K resolution, FreeSync support and 120Hz variable refresh rate which facilitate effortless gameplay at high resolutions. Also part of the kit is the ultra-thin bezel and RGB lighting.
In terms of connections, the monitor comes with 3 HDMI 2.0 ports and DisplayPort 1.3. There are 4 USB ports, along with an SPDIF audio and a headphone output. We have previously never been smitten with speakers which come installed on a monitor, however; the AW5520QF comes loaded with these as well- two 14W speakers tuned with Waves MaxxAudio.
However, while there are some amazing features to lust over, there are also a few noticeable drawbacks. To start with, the monitor does not support HDR, which is quite unforgiveable for a costly modern television.
Additionally, the price of the monitor is hefty and may turn people off, as it will be available for £3,200 when launched on 30 September. So, as compelling as the Alienware AW5520QF may be, it could face difficulties during its sales.
